Overview
If the mysterious tropical forests of Africa fascinate you then this is the expedition for you, a journey into the untouched rainforests of Central Africa. This vast region, spanning three countries sparsely populated with Bantu tribes and nomadic groups of Pygmies will not disappoint the adventurer and wildlife lover. ODZALA is in the northern section of the Congo Basin. In the reserve are large populations of Forest Elephant, Lowland gorillas, 16 of the country’s primate species (such as De Brazza’s Monkey with its distinctive white beard), hundreds of bird species, reptiles, frogs etc. You can visit a village of the Ba’aka pygmies and if you want, you can join them in a hunt for food into the forests. The woman will share some traditional knowledge of the plants and you learn about their lifestyle in the forest.

Arrival from Maya-Maya Airport
We will meet you from the international airport, and you will be welcomed by by our WST Team and transfer to your Hotel. IIn case we can request you GHS Hotel where to stay for your first night in Congo.

Brazzaville – Itoumbi
After your breakfast, we will leave Brazzaville very early at 5am to take the RN2- national road, we will spend night in Itoumbi because it is forbidden to circulate in the park beyond 18h.

Itoumbi – Mbomo Gorilla trek in the morning
After 14 hours of road we will reach the Base of Life of Mbomo for a first control then after crossing the barrier, we will go towards the Camp of Mboko for your first activities within the park. Lunch at Ngaga camp, Afternoon relax followed by a forest walk for bird watching and discovery of forest life and river sundowners, Overnight Ngaga Camp in a luxury en-suite forest room.

Gorilla trek in the morning
Lunch at Ngaga camp , Afternoon time with the gorilla research team, forest walk and a night walk to view nocturnal forest life , Overnight Ngaga Camp in a luxury en-suite forest room

Relaxed morning in camp (optional 3rd gorilla trek at additional cost)
Road transfer through Mbomo village (Sunday village life) and the Odzala-Kokoua National Park, Arrive at Mboko Camp for lunch followed by late afternoon river cruise and sundowners, Overnight Mboko Camp in an en-suite river room

Guided morning kayak on the Lekoli River followed by walk upstream to the Lango bai

Tuesday Guided morning adventure walk

Wednesday - Guided morning walk to bird hide to watch the African grey parrots in the bai

Odzala – Ethoumbi - Owando
Earlier morning after breakfast we shall leave the Odzala National Park straight to Owando where we shall have a sweet night.

Earlier morning after breakfast we shall leave Owando then we go straight to Brazzaville. Dinner and overnight.
